Blizzard In Freehold: 24 Inches Of Snow & Counting
As snow continues to fall across the Garden State, Freehold officials are urging residents to stay off the roads.
FREEHOLD, NJ — Hundreds of homes and businesses are without power on Monday as a blizzard continues to make its way throughout New Jersey.
In Freehold, 24.2 inches of snow have fallen as of 7:45 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, marking one of the highest snowfall amounts in the Garden State.
According to the weather service, snow is expected to continue falling well into Monday afternoon, with a blizzard warning in effect until 6 p.m.

A travel ban also remains in place until noon, Governor Mikie Sherrill announced, with NJ Transit buses and trains suspended as well. Schools across the state were also closed on Monday, alongside municipal offices.
In Freehold, around 830 people are without power as of Monday morning, according to JCP&L. Currently, there is no estimated time of restoration listed.

Freehold Township, Freehold Borough, and Upper Freehold Township officials are urging residents to stay off the roads and stay safe as the storm continues.

“Our teams are working around the clock to clear the roads, get us back up and running, and ensure the safety of New Jerseyans,” Governor Miki Sherrill said in an online post. “Please stay in and stay safe.”
As of Monday morning, snowfall totals in Monmouth County include:
- Freehold: 24.2 in (Public)
- Howell: 18.2 in (Trained Spotter)
- Colts Neck: 17.8 in (Trained Spotter)
- West Long Branch: 16.0 in (Trained Spotter)
- Long Branch: 11.5 in (COCORAHS)
- Manalapan Township: 11.0 in (Trained Spotter)
- Neptune City: 11.0 in (COCORAHS)
