How Much Snow Fell In Monmouth County? See Totals
Multiple towns and boroughs throughout Monmouth County got a foot (or close to a foot) of snow following the weekend's winter storm.
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — It’s a winter wonderland in Monmouth County, as residents recover from a weekend winter storm that brought up to a foot of snow to the area.
From Saturday night into Monday, snow, ice, wintry mix and subzero wind chills lashed the Garden State, with thousands losing power and schools, state and county offices closing on Monday.
In Monmouth County, towns saw snowfall totals that ranged from eight to 12 inches. According to the National Weather Service’s latest briefing, totals include:

- Rumson: 12 inches (public)
- Howell: 11.8 inches (public)
- 1 NE Centerville: 11 inches (trained spotter)
- Freehold: 11 inches (trained spotter)
- Colts Neck: 10.8 inches (public + trained spotter)
- Tinton Falls: 10.4 inches (broadcast media)
- Ocean Township: 10.1 inches (trained spotter)
- Keyport: 10 inches (trained spotter)
- Aberdeen: 9.8 inches (trained spotter)
- Middletown: 9 inches (public)
- Long Branch: 8 inches (trained spotter)
Prior to the storm starting, Governor Mikie Sherrill declared a State of Emergency in all 21 counties on Friday, citing “hazardous weather conditions” that were anticipated across the state.
In addition to declaring a State of Emergency, the NJ Department of Transportation also issued a commercial vehicle restriction for certain vehicles and roads on Sunday, and NJ Transit temporarily suspended bus, light rail, access link and rail services as well.

“In the days since taking office, I have convened leaders across state government to prepare for the impending hazardous conditions to ensure we have the resources necessary to weather this storm,” Sherrill said. “I urge all New Jerseyans to stay home, avoid travel, and follow all safety protocols during the storm.”
