City Closes NJ Strip Club After Death Of Irving Guzman
City officials voted to close Centerfolds Cabaret, a South Jersey strip club that reportedly served Guzman, 19, alcohol before his death.

PLEASANTVILLE, NJ — Pleasantville city officials on Wednesday voted to close Centerfolds Cabaret, the South Jersey strip club where 19-year-old Irving Mayren-Guzman was served alcohol before his assault and death.
In a unanimous vote, the city revoked the business's mercantile license, which it needs to operate, NJ.com reported. The license had been suspended since early February.
Guzman's mother, Zara Guzman, attended the meeting and asked officials what they would do if it had been one of their children.

“Not only did they kill my son, but me … No mother should go through what I went through," Zara Guzman said. "I demand justice, I don’t want this to happen to anyone else."
According to police, Guzman was at Centerfolds Cabaret the night of Jan. 22. Upon leaving the club, he disappeared and his body was found two days later in a marsh area near the nightclub.

Three men have been arrested and charged with assault in connection with Mayren-Guzman's death.
The club shut its doors in late January; originally, Pleasantville's mayor said the club chose to close but city documents indicate the club's license has been temporarily suspended, NJ.com reported. Its Facebook page and website are now offline.
