Do the Speed Limit.
Many think the Speed Limit is just a suggestion.. each vehicle reaches its optimal fuel economy at a different range of speed. Gas milage decreases over 50 MPH. You can assume that each 5 MPH you drive over 50 its like paying an extra $.25 per gallon for gas.. think what that adds up to next time you fill your tank.

Lose the extra weight.
Don't keep extra junk in your car or trunk - especially the heavy "stuff". An extra 100 pounds of cargo can reduce your MPG by up to 2%. This may not seem like a lot but just think about when your storing extra junk that never makes it from the car into the house. This especially is true for smaller vehicles vs larger.
Use Cruise Control.
Using Cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a constant speed which in most situations will help save on gas.
