Man Jumps Out of Ambulance in Hazlet

Police added patrols at Raritan Valley School and St. Benedict's as a precaution as officers searched for the crisis patient Thursday.

Hazlet, NJ - Hazlet police were searching the area of Bethany Road and Galway Drive Thursday morning after a patient jumped out of an ambulance in that area. Police were standing by at Raritan Valley School and St. Benedict's as a precaution, police said.

You might have seen patrol cars in that around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, as police combed the area for someone they were calling a "crisis patient." The man jumped out of the ambulance was described as a black male, 5'6, 160 lbs, wearing blue hospital scrubs. At no time did he present a danger to the community, but police were on alert at local schools as a precaution. Shortly before 9 a.m., he was located and apprehended by officers in the area of Ennis Drive.
