Dad Indicted For Kidnapping Sons in Morris County, Fleeing to Florida

Kristopher Dohm remains lodged in jail on $800,000 bail.

The Hopatcong man charged with kidnapping his two sons and interfering with parental custody has been indicted on four counts by a Grand Jury, Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch announced.

Kristopher Dohm, who took weekend custody in February of his sons, Parker and Jaxon, who were 8 and 7 at the time, respectively, was indicted on two counts of kidnapping and two counts of second degree interference with custody Thursday.

“It is alleged that defendant through numerous acts of deception fled out of state with is 2 minor children with the purpose of permanently depriving their mother of custody,” the indictment said.

Dohm and his ex-wife, Sandra Hughes-Dohm, had joint custody of the boys, who live full time in Landing, New Jersey. Kristopher Dohm allegedly asked the boys’ mother if he could take them out of state in February to visit an ailing family member.

Hughes-Dohm agreed, and expected the boys back on Feb. 9.

Dohm is lodged in the Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility in lieu of $800,000 bail. His arraignment will be held in the next six weeks.
