Do Good for the Pound and Meals on Wheels, Remember Oktoberfest
What you need to know in Hopatcong and Sparta.

Some things are important to remember every day, and this Friday is no exception.
The Hopatcong Pound is always in need of donations. If you can contribute towels, blankets, food for dogs or cats, kitty litter or bleach and other cleaning supplies, drop off donations at the pound between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to noon on weekends.
Similarly, Meals on Wheels can always use volunteers to help deliver meals to homebound seniors in Hopatcong. Deliveries are made Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:30 a.m. and noon, and all that's required is one hour and a smile. Please call the MOW office at 973-209-0123 for more information on the application process.
Don't forget: St Jude's Parish Center-Hopatcong Oktoberfest is Saturday (meaning, after doing some good, you can rest Friday for good German fun). The event features Deutschland-inspired foods, live music, kids' games and more. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Tickets for children 10 and up are $15, and kids undeer 10 are free. The price includes a free drink. The event starts Saturday at 2 p.m., food will be served until 6 p.m., and drinks will continue... St. Jude's is located at 40 Maxim Drive. For more information, call 973-398-6377.
