Fall Family Fun at Allamuchy Harvest Fest
Event featuring pumpkin painting, hayrides and a half-marathon is in its fourth year.

With autumn's nip in the air and the lingering strains of Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" resonating in the minds of fall fans, it simply must be the time of year for the Allamuchy Harvest Fest.
The fourth annual family event features traditional seasonal activities at no charge, but the fun should be priceless. The band Kinderhook is scheduled to provide music; children can enjoy pony rides, pumpkin painting and other great games; shoppers doubtless will love the craft and flea market vendors; families can try the singular experience that is the hayride; and there will be food galore.
The day begins with a 13.1-mile half-marathon, which starts at Allamuchy Township School.
The Harvest Fest takes place Oct. 13 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Rutherfurd Hall, 1686 Route 517. For more information go to Allamuchy's website: www.AllamuchyNJ.org. If you are interested in volunteering for the event, contact Deb Stamm at Harvestfests@Allamuchynj.org.
