Police: Shirtless Man Blocks Traffic, Jumps On Cop Car, Threatens Officer
Travis Tinio was charged with obstruction of a highway, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
A shirtless Hopatcong man was sprawled out in the Quick Chek parking lot, yelling at customers before jumping onto a patrol car and threatening an officer, police said.

Police Lt. Thomas Kmetz said Officer Nick Maresca went to the convenience store shortly after 2 a.m. on a report of a shirtless man yelling at people and laying in the parking lot.Maresca spotted Tinio with no shirt standing in the southbound lane of Lakeside Boulevard. The officer pulled up to Tinio, who, according to Kmetz's report, turned away from the patrol car, put his hands behind his back, then jumped onto the patrol car hood, walked up the windshield and laid prone on the roof.
Maresca pulled Tinio off of the patrol car. The man responded by threatening to kill the patrol officer, Kmetz said, adding that backup arrived at that point to help handcuff Tinio and get him into the patrol car.

Kmetz said the officers described Tinio as foaming at the mouth and struggling emotionally—one moment calm, then aggressive, then distraught and in tears. Police took the man to Newton Memorial Hospital for evaluation, said Kmetz, who added that Tinio will be served with the charges once he has been released from the hospital.
