Marlboro PD Collects Over $2K In Donations, Toys For Local Family

"We were honored and humbled to play a role in making a positive difference for our Marlboro family," Capt. Steve Levy said.

MARLBORO, NJ - With the help of local residents, the Marlboro Township Police Department was able to deliver thousands of dollars worth of clothing, toys and groceries to an area family in need as part of the township’s annual Adopt-A-Family program.

Earlier this year, the department was made aware of a Marlboro family in need of extra support, a local mom raising two sons, ages 12 and 10, as well as a 7-month-old daughter while working a full-time job.

“We were seeking donations in the form of gift cards to local establishments, toys, clothing and groceries to help make the family’s holiday season shine a little brighter this year. Ptlm. Callen Figarola was the point of contact for the program and he did an outstanding job organizing and fundraising to ensure its success,” Capt. Stephen J. Levy said in a statement.

On Monday, Dec. 21, Chief Peter Pezzullo and members of the department were able to deliver over $1,500 worth of clothing and toys, $800 in gift cards and $300 in groceries to the family.

“We would like to thank all the local residents and businesses who donated to our program this year. We would specifically like to thank Mrs. Cori Deutsch Dunphy, Livoti’s Old World Market, Marlboro Diner and On Time Driving for their extremely generous donations and for all the time and effort they put in,” Levy continued.
