• Kean-NJCU Merger: A Strategic Educational Move (investorshangout.com) — A planned merger between Kean University and New Jersey City University aims to preserve four-year public higher education in Jersey City and expand services for local students. Consultants spent 17 months structuring the deal and designing the new Kean Jersey City campus, which could become a national model for rescuing financially stressed colleges while keeping opportunities in the city.

• Construction on Bayfront Redevelopment Project Continues (tapinto.net) — Construction is moving ahead on Jersey City's Bayfront Promenade, a six-story waterfront building that will bring 210 apartments, with about 80 percent reserved for low- and moderate-income households. City leaders say buying the Route 440 site from Honeywell allowed them to dramatically expand affordable and workforce housing, calling the project one of Jersey City's most important developments.
