• From Carload to Kapparos Center – The Voice of Lakewood (thevoiceoflakewood.com) — A longtime Lakewood family is once again running "The Original Lakewood Kapparos Center" in the parking lot of Mordy's Shtiebel, offering full-service kapparos from live chickens through shechitah and grilling. Thousands of birds are processed under police oversight, with many meals going to local needy families and proceeds supporting Mordy's after a recent fire. The operation has grown from a carload of chickens to a 3,500-bird community hub.
