Long Branch Teen Indicted In Quadruple Murder Case

LONG BRANCH, NJ — A Long Branch teen accused of shooting and killing four family members was indicted, officials announced Monday. The indictment against Scott Kologi included four murder charges, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Kologi was previously accused of killing his mother, father, sister and "grandmother" on New Year's Eve in 2017, according to officials.

The 18-year-old was charged in the indictment with four counts of murder and one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, the MCPO said. An arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Monmouth County Superior Court.

Authorities responded to a shooting at a Wall Street home and arrested Kologi on New Year's Eve in 2017. Officials found the bodies of father Steven Kologi; mother Linda Kologi; sister Brittany Kologi; and family acquaintance Mary Schultz, who lived in Ocean Township.

Kologi has been in the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center since his arrest. Police identified his weapon as the semiautomatic Century Arms Model C39V2 rifle.
