Food for Fines at the Washington Township Public Library

Food for Fines begins this Monday.

Our annual Food for Fines event which benefits the Washington Township Food Pantry kicks off this Monday, September 26 and runs through Sunday, October 9.  This gives patrons the option of donating non-perishable food items or a monetary donation to the food pantry in lieu of paying library fines.  Fines up to $5.00 will be forgiven as long as the patron donates at least one item.

The library usually holds this event in later in October, but due to the needs of our community after Hurricane Irene and the floods following we decided to start collecting now.

Even if you don't have a fine to pay we will gladly accept your newly purchased, sealed, non-perishable donations.  Remember the items you donate are going to help your fellow residents in need.
