Keep Your Head Up, Wolfpack

Sadly, a huge part of high school life has recently come to a close... football season. A time when the whole school comes together to cheer on the Wolfpack, ended when the team lost in the semi-finals on November 18. Even though we lost, and ended our season, the final season for the Seniors, fellow students encouraged the players to keep their heads up. And they should, we had a great season.

For me, the last game did not just end football season, but also colorguard and marching band season. On Monday, November 28, we had our marching band banquet, where we celebrated a great season. I was the co-captain of the colorguard this year and the end of the season was very sad because it brought an end to my 4 years in colorguard. Colorguard was not just an afterschool activity for me, everyone involved became my second family and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of practicing, performing, and laughing with everybody that I met through colorguard. I had so much fun leading the group of girls and colorguard formed me into a leader and a unique individual.

Football season has a different impact on everyone - from fans, to football players, to cheerleaders, to marching band and colorguard members. With the end to football season, comes the end to an important season in our high school lives. Even though it is sad, we can keep our heads up and know that we had a great season and that whatever role we play in the football games, it has shaped us into the people that we are.

I had an amazing 4 years in colorguard. People say to find something you enjoy doing, join a club, and it will make your high school experience a great one. This has been proven true for me through colorguard, which became my second family.

I will hopefully continue colorguard in college and will never forget the memories I have made these past 4 years.
