I have to admit…when I place a post on Facebook…I love the likes! I love to read people’s comments as well. I sometimes even get annoyed when people who are my “close” friends DON’T hit like!
When I first joined FB a few years ago I was rather skeptical. I was not interested in hearing what people had for lunch, didn’t care that they were getting their hair highlighted or nails done, could care less about the "Debby Downers" who consistently were the king or queen of gloom and doom (and still don't).
Well, now…a few years in…I am guilty! I love to brag and share what "I" think are great pictures or stories! I write about everything from my kids and their successes (never their shortcomings, of course), what I think is a fabulous recipe, even my dog…Iggy Pup (who is the cutest thing ever and snoring next to me as I write this). You see what I'm saying...I'm doing it now!!

So…my question is…has our society become extremely narcissistic with our ability to use social media to promote ourselves and feel a constant need for approval and validation? Or is our world so convoluted with nonsense that that little bit of approval simply makes us feel better?
I cannot wait for your responses. But not by any means in a narcissistic way!
