Washington Township Police Department Safe Drug Disposal Event Oct. 29 at PD Headquarters
Safe Drug disposal event at Police Headquarters on Oct. 29 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Washington Township Police Department is participating in a Statewide collection of unused and expired prescription drugs on Saturday Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at police headquarters.
Many of us have leftover or expired prescription and OTC drugs sitting in bathroom cabinets, night table drawers, etc. that we meant to get rid of but forgot. As long as they are in the house, there is a chance that inquisitive children or others will get their hands on them, or adults might mistake them for a current prescription and use them.
In either case they can cause a serious medical reaction and/or damage to the person's body. The old solutions of just throwing prescription or OTC drugs in the garbage or flushing them down the toilet are not a safe method of disposal.

Drugs have been shown to contaminate water supplies, harming wildlife and public water systems.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO DROP OFF UNUSED DRUGS AT THE POLICE HEADQUARTERS ON OCT. 29. It is quick and easy to do. No forms to fill out, a disposal container will be right there and a staff member will be there to ensure secure disposal.
