What I want for Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza from Washington Township

Wish list for a set of behaviors and change in attitude from our elected officials and paid employees of Washington Township. Am I asking too much?

1. Respect from the township committee members, administrative staff, DPW road crew, tax appraiser, building department, and especially the police. We pay their wages and they should treat us as customers not inmates or crooks

2. Fairness from all the above plus the planning and adjustment boards

3. Transparency in all that is done by our elected and paid employees on our behalf

4. Vision and a plan for the future of the township (hello there - if you decide to have Toll Brothers put in senior housing you have to make it appealing to seniors - where are they going to walk? shop? eat?)

5. Principled behavior - people who act like the public servants they were elected to be

6. Leadership from the mayor rather than simply an administrator

7. Sincere Care and Concern from our elected officials - how about some kind words to the residents who could use them? A little sympathy when a disaster strikes? Call people and let them know you are aware of their plight (another township mayor does this and I am so jealous)

8. 21st century technology used for meetings to enable all residents to attend
