Long Valley Home Burglarized While Residents Were Inside, Cops Say
Homeowner called police from upstairs while electronics were stolen from house, police report.

A home on Sierra Drive was burglarized Tuesday night while the homeowners were upstairs, Washington Township Police said.
Police were dispatched for a burglary in progress at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday, Lt. Mark Niemynski said. The 911 call came from the homeowner who said he was inside his house and heard a noise coming from the downstairs, Niemynski said.
The alleged burglar or burglars were gone by the time police arrived.

An investigation revealed a door had been forced open to gain access to the home, and electronics were stolen during the crime, Niemynski said.
No one was injured as a result of the burglary.

Police would not say if the burglary was connected to recent break-ins in nearby Chester Township and Mendham Township. Surveillance photos of the alleged burglars in one of those cases can be seen here.
