• Volunteers Tackle More Trail Work At Long Valley's Mill Pond Park (patch.com) — Mill Pond Park in Long Valley just got another round of trail TLC, with local volunteers clearing trees, mowing paths, and sprucing up the Helen Andrews Memorial & Outdoor Education Area. Backed partly by grants and the Long Valley Junior Women's Club, the Washington Township Land Trust is still seeking more residents to help maintain trails and keep this popular spot in great shape.
   

• The Best Bike Trails in Morris County, NJ (shopmorriscounty.com) — Morris County cyclists looking to ride from Long Valley have a standout option in the Columbia Trail, a flat, 16.5-mile rail trail that begins in town and runs into Hunterdon County. The guide also breaks down other easy, long-distance, and mountain biking routes across the county, plus key tips on parking, park hours, and trail etiquette before you head out.
   

• Pick out a gourd-geous pumpkin at these 15(+) farms in North Jersey (dailyrecord.com) — One of the highlighted pumpkin patches this fall is Ort Farms in Long Valley, where daily hayrides, a big corn maze, and a roomy pumpkin field run through early November. The roundup also points you to many other North Jersey farms, but Long Valley residents can enjoy a full fall experience without leaving town. Check dates, hours, and ticket prices before heading out.
