Student Performers Delight Flocktown Crowd
Nearly three dozen students put on show of varying talents and arts.

Amid children’s beaming faces, parents’ teary eyes and laughter, and Principal Michael Craver’s congratulating words, the second annual Long Valley Performing Group’s (LVPG) Talent Showcase for Flocktown came to a reluctant end on Friday, February 22, 2013.
Thirty-three students in grades three through five performed 28 acts to an adoring crowd of more than 150 people packed in the multi-purpose room of Flocktown-Kossmann School.
From modern dance, ballet, popular vocal, band assembles, to pieces performed on the violin and piano, the performances truly showcased the tremendous talents of Flocktown students. Most importantly, the process of the Talent Showcase event, with an extended registration period followed by an audition, encouraged the children to put in the hard work before the actual performance.

The preparation paid off handsomely considering that all acts that came before the judges passed the audition with flying colors. The pride and confidence of the children shone through the entire evening. The performances brought heart-felt joy and satisfaction to the audience. Immediately after the performance, a parent tracked down one of the board members of LVPG and said, ”My four-year-old asked whether the showcase event will still be here when he is in third grade. He got his dance number and partner all picked out!”
Given that it was the second year Flocktown invited LVPG to host the event, it is safe to say that a new tradition for Flocktown was created and is here to stay.
