Burglaries Off Belmar Boulevard Continue: Two Incidents Thursday

Police asking for tips

Chief Robert Brice of the Wall Township Police Department reports the following occurrences:

Township police are investigating two attempted residential burglaries reported in the Ruta Development off of Belmar Boulevard. In the first attempt, a Querns Road homeowner heard a strange noise in his back yard last evening at 10:30. Police were called at 12:53 a.m. after the homeowner later discovered that the screen on his porch door was cut. Police received a second call at 6:34 a.m. after a Ruta Boulevard homeowner found that three screens on 1st floor rear windows were cut and pushed up. No entry was gained in either attempt. Patrolmen Jason Lamb and Hunter Brockriede are the investigating officers.

Dating back to December, 2012  police have investigated a total of seven residential burglaries (this includes the two mentioned above) in the north end of the township on the following roads: Hinck Drive,Marconi Road,Belmar Boulevard, Francis Drive and Filmore Street.

Police officials are requesting assistance from the public who are asked to call and report any/all suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. Anyone with information on the Ruta Development burglaries are asked to call #732-449-4500 or our tip line at #732-280-4388.
