Manasquan Man Indicted For Assault on Cop

22 year-old faces multiple charges

A Manasquan man is facing a list of charges, including throwing bodily fluid at a cop, along with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer stemming from a Dec. 4 incident, according to a grand jury indictment.

Alberto Chavez-Ramos, 22, of Taylor Ave., will face charges of third degree resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer – fourth and third-degree charges  – and one count of throwing bodily fluid, an aggravated assault charge, according to an indictment handed up Wednesday in Monmouth County court.

The indictment describes a Dec. 4 incident between Chavez-Ramos and two officers from Manasquan he allegedly prevented or resisted arrest. According to the indictment, Chavez-Ramos is charged with assault on one officer, allegedly spitting on him.
