Point Pleasant Beach Man Indicted, Charged With Pushing Drugs Near Belmar Boardwalk

Michael Murphy was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in connection with the incident.

A 33-year-old Point Pleasant Beach man was indicted Thursday on several drug possession and distribution charges, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.

Michael Murphy was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in connection with an Aug. 10 incident in Belmar, records say.

Murphy allegedly possessed ethylone and attempted to distribute it within 500 feet of the Belmar Boardwalk, records said.

In August, Murphy was charged with having crystal meth and 11 “baggies” of cocaine in Belmar, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.

Michael Murphy was arrested after he was found with the baggies of a white powdery substance within 500 feet of a park. He was also possessing the meth “capsules” within 500 feet of the park, court records say.

Murphy was charged with possession with intent to distribute. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Murphy was arrested on $250,000 bail.
