Monmouth County Man Charged With Shooting Death In Jackson Restaurant
Hector Calderon, 47, of Freehold is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

A Freehold man has been charged with the murder of Peyman Sanandaji, who was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in a defunct restaurant in Jackson late Thursday night,Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Jackson Police Chief Matthew D. Kunz said.
Hector Calderon, 47, was arrested within hours of the murder at his home in Freehold, spokesman Al Della Fave said.

Calderon is charged with murder, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels set his bail at $1 million cash. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, he said.
Jackson police responded to a report of an injured employee at the Casanova Restorante at 10 South New Prospect Road just after 11 p.m. on Thursday. They found the body of Sanandaji inside the restaurant, dead of multiple gunshot wounds, Della Fave said.

The responding officers immediately secured the scene and called for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI and the Ocean County Medical Examiner. The investigation revealed that the victim was allegedly shot during the course of an altercation with Calderon, he said.
Calderon’s residence was identified as a South Street address in Freehold. Just before noon on April 10, Detectives John Murphy and John Carroll from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office went to the home with the Freehold police and Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Major Crime Unit, and took Calderon into custody without incident, Della Fave said.
