Marlboro High Students Fight Hunger
Marlboro High School students collected 3,000 pounds of food for Fulfill Food Bank.
MARLBORO, NJ — Students all over Monmouth and Ocean County have been competing in the Students Change Hunger Competition collecting food and funds for Fulfill Food Bank, according to Fulfill CEO and President Triada Stampas.
Marlboro High was the division six winner, collecting over 3,000 pounds of food for donation.
“Schools in Monmouth and Ocean Counties faced many challenges this year with surges of the Delta and Omicron variants in the community. We are grateful that 64 schools signed up to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who are struggling during the pandemic,” stated Stampas.

The schools collected a total of 50,490 pounds of food and $15,220 in funds, while the sponsors collected an additional $17,800 in funds. All food collected in the competition will be used to provide meals for families in the Jersey Shore.
The statewide competition was organized by the Federation of New Jersey Food Banks. The food and fund drives ran from Sept. 13, 2021, through Jan. 14, 2022.

Fulfill currently supplies food to nearly 300 agencies in both Monmouth and Ocean Counties, including soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters, providing food for families, children, seniors, veterans and more.
