Marlboro’s Tree, Menorah Lighting Ceremony Cancelled
This year's virtual tree and menorah lighting ceremony has been cancelled due to inclement weather, officials announced Monday.
MARLBORO, NJ - Marlboro Township Mayor Jon Hornik announced last week that the annual tree and menorah lighting ceremony will be virtual in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. Now, officials say the ceremony has now been cancelled due to inclement weather.
In a Dec. 14 email alert to residents, Hornik stated that the evening’s events to be livestreamed outside town hall will not happen due to bad weather conditions.
“With the Winter Weather Advisory and the potential for significant snowfall totals we are unable to reschedule before Christmas week. We are as disappointed as many of you are, but we have faith that 2021 will find us together for an in-person bigger than ever Holiday Lighting,” the mayor wrote.
