12 COVID Deaths So Far In Middletown, 399 Total Cases
The 12 deaths include residents in Middletown nursing homes/long-term care facilities and those who live at home, said Mayor Tony Perry.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — As of Friday, there have been 12 COVID-19 related deaths among Middletown residents, and there are 399 total positive cases.
The majority of residents with this virus are self-isolating and recovering at home.

However, not all COVID deaths are elderly: Robert Weber, an active volunteer firefighter with the Port Monmouth Fire Company and a member of the Middletown First Aid Squad was killed by the virus last week.
About sixty percent of all of Monmouth County's COVID deaths have occurred in nursing homes: Of the 230 people who died of COVID-19 in Monmouth County so far to date, 135 of those — or 58 percent —have occurred at long-term care facilities or nursing homes.
