Dialogues in Printmaking at the Monmouth Museum

A Traveling Art Show by 58 printmakers from the USA and Korea.

Dialogues in Printmaking showcases works by 58 printmakers from the United States of America and Korea. The curators of this traveling show are bringing it to the Monmouth Museum from September 16-November 4, 2018, with the Opening Reception on Sunday, September 16th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. The exhibition has previously be shown at the IPCNA in Lima, Peru; The Print Art Research Center in Seoul, Korea; Gallery 21 in Köln, Germany and will be going next to the Blackburn 20120 Gallery in NYC, USA.

Dialogues in Printmaking represents a wide array of contemporary and traditional printmaking processes, techniques, and the artists present an open dialogue that stems from a shared artist studio. Through a breadth of philosophies and sensibilities, these artists share a connection through a common studio practice that creates thematic, cultural, and process-based tribulations and resolutions.

This exhibition aims to show the printmaker's interpretation of global and personal events, parallel to the influence of a group, team or community – a dynamic unique to printmakers and printmaking workshop spaces. The grouping of work from both countries represent hubs for creativity and various responses to unique cultural settings. The exhibition emphasizes the importance of exchanging knowledge, ideas and cognitive thought in image making.
