After a family of eight, including a baby, was displaced in a fire in Keansburg Tuesday, the school district is now asking for donations.

KEANSBURG, NJ — After a family of eight, including a baby, was displaced in a fire in Keansburg earlier this week, the Keansburg school district is now gathering clothing and gift cards to give to the family. The fire broke out at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at a home on Raritan Avenue. The father, 37, was airlifted with smoke inhalation to St. Barnabas and was last listed in critical condition, according to the Keansburg police department. The 34-year-old mother, and the other children, ranging in age from an infant to 17 years old, made it out safely, but they all suffered smoke inhalation. The home was severely damaged. They are now homeless and staying with family.
