Food for Fines @ Middletown Township Public Library
Reduce late fines and help local food banks

The Middletown Township Public Library Board of Trustees has agreed to hold a Food for Fines event this summer! The program will run concurrent to the Summer Reading Program (June 25th – August 17th).
Each non-perishable food item donated will elimnate $1.00 of late fees from a cardholder’s account, up to a maximum of $10.00 in late fees waived during the program event (although customers are welcome to make further food donations). Fees associated with lost materials and collection agency fees cannot be waived through this program.
We will be spreading the wealth and bringing donations to all of the local food banks on a weekly basis, including Town’s Pantry, Middletown Helps Its Own, Calico Cat, Project Paul, and Lunch Break.

This is a great time of year for this event as food pantries tend to run dry during the summer months. Spread the word to fill those pantries and get a little break on late fines this summer.
