Middletown Community Donates 8,000 New Toys To Families In Need

This year, Middletown Helps Its Own gave holiday toy/food boxes to almost 400 Middletown residents. IMA clients donated a record amount:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — For the sixth December in a row, patients at IMA Urgent Care & Primary Care donated toys for Middletown and Bayshore families in need.

This year, IMA received a record amount of toy donations: People in this area donated more than 8,000 new toys to IMA’s two urgent care centers and eight primary care centers.

IMA staff then gave the toys to Middletown Helps Its Own and the Monmouth County chapter of Toys for Tots for distribution to families in need.

This year, Middletown Helps Its Own provided holiday toy/food boxes to almost 400 Middletown residents. Middletown Helps Its Own is an all-volunteer organization that has been helping Middletown residents for an incredible 59 years now.

The organization hosts a weekly food pantry and helps provide emergency services to Middletown residents, such as if they lost their home in a fire or due to flooding.

"It’s amazing to see how generous IMA’s patients are. We even have a (client) who makes his own wooden toys to be distributed to those in need through Middletown Helps Its Own,” said IMA president and Family Practice of Middletown physician, Dr. Roger Thompson.

This past Saturday, Dec. 16 volunteers from Middletown Helps Its Own loaded up fire engines, first aid trucks and volunteers’ cars to deliver the food boxes and donated toys to almost 400 Middletown residents. Each family received a food box that included a holiday dinner and toys donations for their children.
