Leaders say they're restructuring to protect academics and student services without steep tuition hikes, while regional centers in Wall and Freehold will remain open and the college looks to expand programs for adult and career-focused learners.

2. Middletown Conservation Commission May Skip September (upriseri.com) — Middletown's Conservation Commission expects to cancel its September meeting because expiring terms and a possible change to liaison voting could leave it without a quorum. Chair Melissa Welch says she'll aim to reconvene October 28 and urges residents to bring project concerns directly to the Planning Board in the meantime, stressing the commission's advisory role on issues like stormwater and development.

Cape May County just became the third county to pass a resolution urging repeal of several state laws limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities, tying the issue to voter-roll concerns and calling for voter ID and policy rollbacks in Trenton.
