'A Night In Bethlehem' Saturday, Dec. 2 At Middletown Church

Middletown's Westminster Presbyterian Church is hosting a family event focusing on the Biblical story of Christmas this Saturday, Dec. 2.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Westminster Presbyterian Church in Middletown will be hosting a family-oriented, holiday event focusing on the true meaning of Christmas this Saturday, December 2. "A Night in Bethlehem" is an afternoon adventure that encourages kids to enjoy a hands-on Holy Land experience by exploring the city of Bethlehem and learn about customs from Biblical times and the Biblical story of Christmas.

Come to the Westminster Presbyterian Church at 94 Tindall Road this Saturday, Dec. 2. The gates of Bethlehem will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. WPC will once again transform its community center, Harlan Hall, into Bethlehem. Indoor activities include learning how to write Jesus' name in Hebrew, grinding frankincense and myrrh, carpentry, pottery and weaving and sampling bread and traditional foods from Jesus' time. Visitors can also stop by the Christmas manger animal menagerie, have their picture taken with the Holy Family and be on the look out for three kings who will be travelling through the city bearing gifts.

"This event is designed to enable families to spend time together this Advent season learning about the place of Jesus' birth and celebrating the true reason for the Christmas season," said Reverend Joseph Hein.
