Parents Angry Over Lack of Heat at Middletown North: Report
Temps as low as 51 in some parts of the school, which admits 'issues' with heating system. Students doing work with jackets and blankets on.

Middletown, NJ - Parents and students are heated about the lack of well, heat the past few days at Middletown High School North, according to an Asbury Park Press report.
Some parts of the Middletown North building have been without heat the past two days, students say. Students posted photos on Facebook of thermostats in some classrooms as low as 51 degrees, according to the APP.
The school guidance department acknowledged there is a problem with the heat: “There have been issues with our heating system,” read a letter sent home to parents Tuesday, the APP reports.

The average temperature in the building is between 65 to 67 degrees, the school said, however, “In those classrooms where the temperature is below 60 degrees, the students and their teacher are relocated to other areas of the building,” the letter read. “Staff and students are encouraged to dress in layers. The problem is being addressed by our Facilities Department.”
“Yesterday my daughter was doing her work with her coat and hood on,” Jennifer Huelbig, whose daughter Jenna is a sophomore, told the APP. “The kids were told to layer up for today. She brought a blanket to school.”
