Rt. 35 Closed Saturday Due To Leaking Propane Tank At Middletown U-Haul

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Highway 35 in Middletown had to be briefly shut down Saturday night due to a propane leak at the U-Haul facility.

A 1,000-gallon propane tank at the U-Haul rental center at 1014 Rt. 35 south was leaking at around 9:25 p.m. Saturday. Emergency services units responded and the highway was closed as a precautionary measure because the wind was blowing the leaking propane towards the highway.

Port Monmouth First Aid Squad was the EMS unit on scene with the Middletown fire department.
