Self-Proclaimed Middletown Pedophile Found Guilty Of Sexual Assault

The man, who referred to himself as a pedophile, used Xbox Live to abuse four boys.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ— A self-proclaimed pedophile from Middletown was found guilty Friday of sexually abusing four boys on Xbox Live, according to a release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Gary Wolchesky, 28, was found guilty of 21 counts, including two counts of first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and four counts of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child by Manufacturing Child Pornography.

The 2009 investigation to Wolchesky began after he posted a video to YouTube, confessing to being a pedophile. He posted under several usernames, including "PEDOTeenTech."

Police found a number of images of children under 16 performing sexual acts on Wolchesky's hard drive. (The video has since been removed from YouTube.)

Using Xbox Live, Wolchesky, who was then 21, befriended the four boys, who were between 10-15 years old in 2008, and convinced them to send him naked pictures and masturbate.

Because the photos would only be stored on Xbox Live for a few days, Wolchesky would videotape himself opening the messages, and then save the videos. He instructed some of the boys to penetrate themselves, Charles Webster, from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, said.

"Wolchesky, acting as his own attorney, argued he never instructed the boys to penetrate themselves and all the boys consented to the conduct," Webster said in a release, "The self-proclaimed pedophile also argued he was merely acting out of civil disobedience to advance the cause of pedophilia."

The verdict follows years of legal delays, caused by Wolchesky repeatedly contesting the case. In 2014, additional charges were filed against him, after Wolchesky contacted one of the victims despite being ordered not to. All four of the now-men testified at the trial.

Wolchesky faces more than 61 years in state prison when he is sentenced in March.
