SANDY HOOK, NJ — Two people were seriously injured in a single-car accident Tuesday night near Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook Gateway National Recreation Area. The accident happened around 9 p.m. and involved one car only. Two victims were airlifted with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries; the other two were taken to the hospital by ambulance, said Daphne Yun, a spokeswoman for the National Park Service, which maintains Sandy Hook.
