Millburn Official: We'll Let You Know If Storm Affects School
Now that Gov. Phil Murphy has declared a state of emergency in New Jersey for the upcoming nor'easter, will area schools close?

MILLBURN, NJ — With North Jersey still recovering from last month's flooding during Tropical Depression Ida, officials are wary of another storm forecast to bring several inches of rain overnight through Tuesday. Schools Superintendent Christine Burton issued a message Monday night saying no decisions had been made yet about the school schedule, and advising the school community to watch for updates (the message is below).
Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency starting Monday at 8 p.m., urging drivers to stay off the roads.
The National Weather Service has predicted as much as 2-4 inches of rain through Tuesday afternoon. For comparison, 5 inches to 9 inches of rain fell in North Jersey during Tropical Depression Ida, although it was over a shorter period of time.
