6 To Run In Pair Of Moorestown BOE Elections
Four candidates are running for three open, full-term seats, while two more will run in a special election.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Four candidates will run for three open, three-year seats on the Moorestown Township Public School District’s Board of Education in this year’s elections.
Two additional candidates will run in a special election to fill the unexpired term of Kathy Goldenberg, which amounts to two years, according to the Burlington County Clerk’s Office.
Peter Palko is the only one of three incumbents for full-term seats that opted to run for re-election. Lauren Romano, Jack F. Fairchild and Tinamarie Nicolo-Dorfner all filed petitions to challenge for the open seats by Monday’s 4 p.m. deadline. Caryn Shaw and Anne Marie Reyher decided not to run for re-election.

Mark Villanueva, who was appointed to the vacant seat on July 20, will run to fill the unexpired term of Goldenberg. He will be challenged by Kameron K. Rabenou.
Goldenberg resigned after she was confirmed by the New Jersey State Senate to serve on the State Board of Education on June 19. The state position doesn’t allow for service on local boards.

Friday, Aug. 4, is the deadline for challenges to nominating petitions in this year’s school board elections. Election Day is Nov. 7.
