Affordable Housing Issues To Be Discussed By Moorestown Council
Moorestown Council will meet on Monday, Dec. 10, 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

MOORESTOWN, NJ - There will be a public hearing and a final vote on a proposal to add affordable housing requirements to the current zoning laws in Moorestown at Monday night’s council meeting.
Moorestown Council will meet on Monday night, Dec. 10, at Town Hall, 111 West Second Street. The workshop portion is canceled and the official action portion will commence at 7 p.m.
Specifically, council will vote on a proposal that calls for 20 percent of certain approved developments to be set aside for affordable housing. It is part of the township’s settlement with Fair Share Housing to fulfill its affordable housing obligation by 2025.

The Planning Board has found this proposal to be inconsistent with the township’s Master Plan, so council must also pass an extemporaneous resolution explaining why the proposal would be passed anyway. That resolution will be considered separate from the consent agenda, which features seven items.
Council will also hold a public hearing and final vote on a proposal that would allow the county to perform bridge construction and a maintenance easement of potential future construction/maintenance to the Kings Highway Bridge over the Pennsauken Creek.
