Council To Discuss Affordable Housing Before Next Meeting
Moorestown Council will meet in closed session to discuss the issue Monday night.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will meet in closed session to discuss affordable housing issues prior to its next meeting on Monday night. The special meeting begins at 6 p.m. on Monday night, March 12. Council will discuss issues related to litigation, negotiations and the attorney-client privilege.
The workshop portion of the meeting has been cancelled, and the regular action meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at town hall, 111 West Second Street. During the meeting, there will be a swearing-in ceremony for new officers with the Moorestown Police Department.
- Certain employees holding positions within the Department of Public Works shall be compensated annually as set forth in Schedules A and B of the labor contract in effect for years 2017 through 2019.
- Clerical and confidential employees shall be compensated annually as set forth in Schedules C and D of the labor contract in effect for years 2017 through 2019.
- Employees who have served at least one year in the top step for positions set forth in Schedules A – D, shall be considered “off-grid” and will receive the applicable percentage salary increase in effect for that year on their anniversary date. The salary increase for years 2017, 2018 and 2019 is 2 percent each year.
There are seven items on the consent agenda, including three that deal with water plant treatment upgrades. Two of them authorize Moorestown to file for loan application packages with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust for upgrades at the North Church Street Water Treatment Plant, as well as upgrades at the Hartford Road Water Treatment Plant.

The third item authorizes a change order in the amount of $15,910.71 for improvements at the Kings Highway Water Treatment Plant.
