Former Managers Provide Assistance For New Moorestown Township Manager
Jack Terry and George Haeuber are assisting new Township Manager Tom Merchel, the Moorestown Sun reports.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Township Manager Tom Merchel is getting assistance from a pair of deputy co-managers, the Moorestown Sun reports.
Jack Terry and George Haeuber assumed their positions earlier this month, according to the report. They will each work a few hours a week, and aren’t salaried.
Merchel was named Township Manager on Jan. 23, about a week after council held a special meeting to accept former manager Scott Carew’s resignation.

Merchel makes $42,000 as Township Manager, and continues to work as the township’s Chief Financial Officer, an office he receives separate compensation for.
As he continues to get a handle on doing both jobs, he hired Terry and Haeubuer to help fill in, and is still considering whether he needs to hire another full-time employee.

Terry was formerly the township manager in Moorestown for 22 years, and worked as a municipal manager overall for over 37 years when he retired in 2007. Chris Schultz was the manager from 2008-11, before Carew assumed the office.
Haeuber served as the Interim Director of Public Works in Moorestown last year. He was the township administrator in Riverside for 18 years, according to a 2010 report by southjerseylocalnews.com. He also formerly served as interim township manager in Cinnaminson.
