Garfield Park Academy Receives National Award For Excellence

Willingboro, NJ - The National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) recently honored Garfield Park Academy, a private non-profit school serving children and teens with learning, social and behavioral disabilities, as a ‘School of Excellence’.

Selection as a NASET ‘School of Excellence’ is the highest level of recognition a private special education school can achieve through the professional association. This distinction is bestowed upon select qualified licensed private special education schools after meeting rigorous professional criteria and demonstrating exceptional dedication, commitment and achievement in the field of special education.

Garfield Park Academy, serving students with disabilities for over 25 years, began its work in a single rented classroom with just one student. Since then, the Academy has grown significantly and has the only fully accredited vocational program for students with disabilities in the state.

Garfield Park Academy is always expanding its programs to achieve higher levels of student success. The Academy was the nation’s first school program accredited by Teaching Family Association, representing the gold standard in positive behavioral supports for students with disabilities.
