Informal Budget Discussion On Tap For Moorestown Council Meeting

MOORESTOWN, NJ - Moorestown Council will have an informal discussion on the township manager’s proposed budget Monday night.

The discussion will take place as part of the Moorestown Council meeting on Monday night, March 11, 7 p.m. at town hall, 111 West Second Street. The workshop portion of the meeting is canceled and the official action meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

The discussion is required by law, but it is a proposal only. It is subject to council review and modification over the next several months.

There will also be an informal discussion about state law that bans smoking in public parks. There are no proposed ordinances to be discussed on either first or second reading.

There is one item on the consent agenda, which would authorize the clerk and the mayor to sign a shared services agreement with the county for snow plowing and salting.

A contract between the township and the county for these services expired at the end of last year, and the contract under consideration Monday night is identical, effectively providing reimbursement to the township for services rendered on county roads from Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021.
