Council will meet on Monday night, Sept. 24, at town hall, 111 West Second Street. The workshop portion of the meeting will take place at 7 p.m., followed by the official action meeting at 7:30 p.m.

There are three items on the Consent Agenda, including one that calls for the approval of a two-year $49,069 contract with L&S Contracting and Recycling for the management of the township’s compost facility on Creek Road.

L&S Contracting has managed the township’s brush mulching and leaf composting for about 25 years, according to the agenda posted on the township’s website.
The township negotiated directly with L&S Contracting to extend their services. The extension is only for two years, as opposed to the typical five years, to allow greater flexibility for the township to revisit the contract quicker without waiting a full five years.
During the workshop session, the township manager and the director of community development are scheduled to provide an overview of its plans to publish a list of abandoned properties, and to provide owners of these properties with proper notification, as required by ordinance.
