Moorestown Council To Vote On Property Tax Due Date Delay
Moorestown Council meets Monday night at town hall.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will consider a resolution to extend the due date for property tax payment for the third quarter when it meets Monday night at town hall. The official action meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., preceded by the workshop meeting at 7 p.m.
Due to delays in the State Budget Adoption Process, including a brief shut down of New Jersey state government, the state has not yet confirmed state aid figures for the year. This results in a delay of residents receiving their property tax bills. Therefore, there will be an extension of the due date for property tax bills.
The due date is 25 days after property tax bills are mailed, which typically happens in the beginning of July. However it appears as though that may be delayed until the beginning of August. Therefore, the township has proposed extending the deadline to Sept. 1, 2017, meaning residents will have until that date to pay their third quarter property taxes without incurring interest.
