PD Building, Speed Limit On Tap For Moorestown Council Meeting
Moorestown Council will meet on Monday night, 7:30 p.m. at town hall.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Moorestown Council will host four public hearings and consider four proposals for a final vote when it meets Monday night. Council will meet on Monday night, July 9, 7:30 p.m. at town hall, 111 West Second Street.
The workshop session usually scheduled for 7 p.m. is canceled in favor of a closed session in which council will discuss affordable housing, the status of the township manager position and the acquisition of land.
One item that will be up for a public hearing and final vote is the proposal to exceed the municipal budget appropriations and establish a cap bank that annually accompanies the municipal budget talks.
This allows Moorestown to increase its budget up by 3.5 percent over last year's final appropriations, as opposed to the 2.5 percent cap, and bank the excess.

One proposed bond ordinance calls for the appropriation of $4,300,000 and the borrowing of $4,085,000 to purchase the property at 1245 North Church Street for municipal purposes. A separate proposal would allow the township to buy the property for use by the police department.
