Forget Lemonade. We've Got a Bean Stand

Morris Township cousins are budding entrepreneurs.

Four cousins in Morris Township bucked tradition Thursday, setting up a bean stand instead of the summer-staple lemonade stand. According to their grandmother, Sandy Atkins, the idea was spurred by a passer-by who asked if she could buy some string beans from the corner-lot vegetable garden the children created with their grandfather.

The price for a quart-size Zip-Lok bag of mixed green and yellow string beans was $1.00.

The young entrepreneurs were second-grader Brooke Atkins, first-grader Annabelle Atkins and pre-schoolers Hailey Atkins and William Atkins.
