Kathy Kane, a creative coach from Morris Township back in January, is teaching a summer writing workshop for adults.
The theme of the workshop is Summer Play. It will run for four Wednesdays from 7-9:30 p.m. starting July 13.
"Over the four weeks writers will discover how playfulness allows them to plumb the depths of their writing voices," Kane said. "All writers, from wannabees to experienced, benefit from this method."

Kane, owner of Kane Creative Consulting, LLC, will lead the writing workshop at The Room Above, in the Brookside section of Mendham.
"The workshop is based on the Amherst Writers and Artists method," she said, noting that she is certified to teach using this method. “Our writing muscle gets stronger through practice; practice comes from playful experimenting and childlike wonder."

Participants will be given prompts–both verbal and visual–to inspire their writing. Kane says that it doesn't matter whether you've ever considered yourself a writer or not. She points to a quote by Pat Schneider, who created the Amherst Writers and Artists method:
You have a voice, just as surely as you have a face, and it is already full of character, passionate and nuanced and beautiful.
The workshop fee is $120. To register and for more information please contact Kathy Kane at kathy@kanecreativeconsulting.com or 973-978-5282.
